This last weekend me and some friends were in São Paulo, it was fun and also very enlightening to go sightseeing in the biggest city of Latin America, but I was surprised to see how much into graffiti the city actually is. Well, that will eventually come into a post, but we accidentally came across this really nice shop located in Oscar Freire, one of those cool streets you can find many trendy shops, cool people and nice atmosphere. Urban Arts is a shop that trades graffiti and street art in general, but how do they do that? Well, besides being an art gallery in which you can buy original street art in canvases, you can also find related products such as pillows, solo and framed prints, cards and much more. Pay a visit to their website http://www.urbanarts.com.br/
Atmosphere there is amazing, given you are surrounded by amazing street art on the walls, every detail has been extremely well thought, the walls onto which the pieces are displayed, all resemble city walls onto which graffiti is made.
…And you can frame your recently bought print right there!
This is a project from Stan Engelbrecht & Nic Grobler who are in a 2 year long journey around South Africa taking pictures of ordinary people and their bikes. I got a description from Blog Miss Moss giving more details on it:
Make sure you watch their video at the bottom of the post!
“Stan Engelbrecht & Nic Grobler are publishing the best 165 portraits and stories of the over 500 portraits of cyclists they’ve photographed during their 2 year journey around South Africa. Divided over 3 books, each will contain a different 55 stories, and also two essays each by local South African and major international cycling figures. The books are designed by Gabrielle Guy and they have also collaborated with celebrated South African artist Gabrielle Raaff to create an individual hand-painted watercolor map, based on Google Maps, to indicate the location of each of the portraits. ”

And don’t forget to watch their beautiful video:
I’m sure you all have heard about the name Cooper associated with the renowned car maker. Well so they have now moved into making bikes, and may I say wow, really nice bikes! They are commuter bikes with a slight vintage look.
